ryslig app.!
(NOTE TO MODS 5/21/16 – I made a few minor changes to Yugo's app.: His canon point has been switched to the one he was taken from before being dropped from Ryslig (details here), a note has been added to the last paragraph of the personality section (in regard to his in-canon Berserk state), and the samples have been changed to more recent ones. Everything else has been kept the same, so I hope this is all right!)

CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Yugo
Age: 14
Canon: Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V
Canon Point: Episode 72
Character Information: Here!
Personality:
Yugo's not exactly someone who makes a good first impression. He's a rather rude boy, indicated by the way he speaks (particularly in Japanese, as he tends to use the "rude" versions of certain words) and the fact that he's not really good at interacting with others. Yugo isn't afraid to express how he feels or what he thinks, which often leads to him not realizing that what he says may be a sensitive issue for others—for example, telling a young woman that she stinks. He also has a tendency to not apologize for his actions unless intimidated or persuaded into doing so. (Literally knock some sense into him; that'll do the trick!) Oh, and try calling him by the wrong name. He loves when people do that.
Incredibly sensitive about his name, Yugo will yell at anyone who gets it wrong and tell them his actual name...and maybe even duel them. Unfortunately, his name sounds very similar to the Japanese word for "Fusion" ("yuugou"), which is prominent in Arc-V as it's the name of a dimension and a summoning technique said dimension gets its name from. To those who are native Japanese speakers or know enough of the language, they may think his name really is "Fusion". Yugo can distinguish the two, of course, and unless it's clearly obvious someone is not using the word to refer to him, he'll automatically think they are and get angry.
Even though he's rude and short-tempered, Yugo's not a mean person. In fact, he's kind to anyone so long as they're nice to him and call him by the correct name. He can recognize that he can go overboard and will sincerely apologize should his actions upset someone. If he causes trouble and finds out later that he was at fault, he will recognize this rather than continue to blame whoever else was involved. Heck, Yugo doesn't even have to be at fault—if he sees someone is upset, he will try to comfort them as best as he can. His compassionate behavior is likely thanks to his childhood friend and crush Rin that he's this way, as her motherly disposition helped keep him in line while she was around.
For the most part, Yugo is pretty informal. He's a rather upbeat, somewhat goofy fellow, often speaking with a smile on his face and doing or saying what he wants without fear of being poorly received by others. Even if he ends up doing something that makes him look like a fool—for example, trying to transport to another dimension in front of a bunch of people only to fail—he doesn't take it personally and would probably do it again at some point. Fortunately, Yugo does know when to be serious and will drop his cheery behavior in favor of a stern one. Be it a discussion about what is going on between the four dimensions or an exhibition duel at a tournament where he knows the person picked to challenge the current Duel King is fodder for said "king" or so forth, he will remain serious until the topic changes or if he comes up with a related idea.
See, Yugo has a tendency to be impulsive. If not already made obvious by his tactless nature, the fact that he will act without thinking it through will do the trick. He may have good intentions, or he may not, but once Yugo sets his mind on something, he will do what he can to go through with it. His stubbornness makes him oblivious to his surroundings, unfortunately. He could be in a duel with someone he considers an enemy and not even notice that he has an audience until the very end. Or he could be discussing how to deal with an invasive group of people with someone and fail to realize he's somewhere he's not supposed to be. Or he could enter his friend and himself in a tournament despite the fact that they're currently being monitored by Security. Whatever the case, Yugo won't always notice or remember what's going on around him until it's too late.
Of course, Yugo's impulsiveness has occasionally benefited him. Upon finding out that a Commons—someone belonging to the poor ninety-nine percent—won a tournament and became accepted by the Tops—the wealthy one percent—he and Rin decided to someday enter the tournament and challenge him. In order to do this, they had to build a Duel Runner (a high tech motorcycle), which is necessary to have for the tournament. By working together, they succeeded, and Yugo eventually became an expert at piloting and repairing it. The two also needed to be good at Duel Monsters, which is very true for Yugo. He knows that he's good at both piloting a Duel Runner and dueling, too, having enough confidence to take on a Duel Chaser (a member of Security who excels at dueling) AND win. Additionally, his choice to enter Yuzu and himself in the Friendship Cup (the aforementioned tournament) not only allowed him to potentially achieve his goal, it would also make their claims about his dimension being invaded more credible should he or Yuzu win.
While Yugo is very much his own person, he has a personality trait that is shared amongst those who have the same face as him—i.e., Yuya Sakaki, Yuto, and Yuri (who shall be collectively referred to as the "Yus"). This trait is Berserk Mode. This mode has so far only been shown to activate during duels when the Yus' dragons are present. The dragons either take over their owners' minds, or the owners themselves go into Berserk Mode when they are very angry. Upon doing so, their eyes glow a certain color (green in Yugo's case) and it is difficult to snap them out of it. While in Berserk Mode, the Yus are willing to harm and even destroy their opponent(s) in order to win. Once they regain their senses, they won't have any memory of what happened while in that state. However, Yugo has been shown to recall a little bit, as he remembered Yuya protecting Yuto during his duel with the latter. Fortunately, he likely won't enter Berserk Mode frequently. (NOTE 5/21/16: Last time I apped, I was notified that Yugo's Berserk Mode wouldn't work in Ryslig (which I completely understand); the way he acts while in his in-canon Berserk state can instead be a reference to how he behaves when in a Berserk state in Ryslig (since he ended up as a Troll).
